It uses the OPL4 (FM Operator Type-L4) sound chip YMF-278 developed by Yamaha, which has been used in a variety of electronic musical instruments (Yamaha MU5 and TG-100 sound modules, Yamaha Portasound electronic keyboards (PSS-51, PSR-200, PSR-210, PSR-215, PSR-300, PSR-310, PSR-400, PSR-410, PSR-500, PSR-510 and PSR-600), QR-10 music accompaniment player, and QY-20 music workstations), as well as sound cards for Yamaha SoundEdge PC computers.

Requirements

– You will need to connect an amplified speaker to the audio connector located on the top of the cartridge.
– Use software (games or audio software) compatible with OPL4.

Notes

– Stereo sound is only provided on the audio jack located on the top of the cartridge.
– The Wozblaster Reloaded reinserts audio in mono for the MSX via the SOUNDIN pin.
– There are about 90 titles available with OPL4 compatibility, most of them for MSX2.
