Minimig: The Mini Amiga 500 Experience

The Minimig (short for “Mini Amiga”) is an extraordinary open-source hardware project that faithfully replicates the iconic Amiga 500 home computer—one of the most beloved systems of the late 1980s and early 1990s. Originally developed by enthusiast Dennis van Weeren in 2005, this project started as a passionate endeavor to recreate the Amiga’s unique architecture using FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) technology. Thanks to the dedication of a vibrant community, the Minimig has evolved into a compact, versatile, and accessible device, allowing enthusiasts to relive classic Amiga software and games while preserving its rich legacy for future generations.
